Paul has practised almost exclusively in the area of litigation over the past nineteen years, including Sports Law, Criminal defence Law and Employment Law.
He has appeared extensively in a range of courts including the Magistrates, County and Federal Courts, and has instructed in cases in other jurisdictions such as the Supreme Court. He has acted for Plaintiffs in Civil Litigation in a range of courts and has represented persons charged with criminal offences in all jurisdictions in Victoria.
Paul Horvath graduated from Monash University Melbourne in 1990 with Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws degrees, and in 2008 with a Master of Laws degree from the University of Melbourne.
Penny graduated from the University of Melbourne at the end of 2008 with Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws degrees. Penny has worked with Paul Horvath Solicitor (and Sportslawyer) since early 2008 with and commenced her traineeship as a lawyer in 2008.
Working alongside Paul Horvath, Penny has been exposed to a wide range of practice areas including contract law, sports law, employment law, and criminal law.
Penny has a keen interest in Sports Law and chose to undertake Advanced Legal Research in this area. She received first class honours for her paper about the handling of illicit drug taking by athletes. She has continued to gain specialist knowledge of the industry through the research and work she does with Paul. She also attends the Law Institute’s Sports Law Group seminars.
Previously, Penny worked as a paralegal in the litigation team within the Commonwealth Bank of Australia’s Legal Services Department.
