Seminar Objectives:

Navigating the process of an injured worker to return to work can be a difficult task for employers.

Approaching the process with care and attention can not only help to ensure a smooth transition back to work for the employee, it can also help employers to protect themselves from legal claims which may arise for failing to adhere to applicable workplace laws.

Managing difficult and underperforming employees.

Seminar Objectives:

Employees are one of the most valuable assets of any business.  It can be challenging for employers to effectively manager underperforming employees.  The aim of this seminar to to provide insight into the legal framework and how to manage employees effectively to reduce the risk of adverse legal proceedings by an employee against the employer.

Paul Horvath (Principal) will present and discuss the key considerations for employers, obligations of employers to ensure procedural fairness and under the legislative requirements for employers under the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth).

Paul Horvath has practised as a solicitor for over 25 years.  He has worked in small and medium firms, including two years in the Employment and Industrial Law Section at Maurice Blackburn Lawyers.

• Fair Work Commission framework – unfair dismissal and general protections provisions.
